Geek's Den

Geek's Den was founded by four Sunway University Computing Students in 2016. The co-founders of Geek's Den, Khoo Kye Yin, Teoh Kwok Jin and Saw Wei Sheng, were needy students, who  understood the need for academic books at a affordable price. With the help of their Software Engineering lecturer, they sought out to set up a bookstore that allows students to rent academic books.

 

The main goal of Geek's Den is to provide students with a cheap alternative to renting or buying expensive university textbook. The founders believe that every student should be given the privilege of knowledge and creativity regardless of their financial situation. The company's motto, "Smart is the new Sexy" aims to promote reading and knowledge. Geek's Den now not only provides books for students, but also books for everyone.

What began as a mere assignment for a website system, has evolved into one of the most popular bookstores in Malaysia. Geek's Den's one and only shop, which is located in the shopping mall Sunway Pyramid also boasts as the largest bookstore in Asia, filling 20,000 square feet with a wide selection of new and used books. Geek's Den has also won multiple awards, including The Bookstore of the Year Award by London Book Fair.
